It has been our experience that many issues in the construction/blue collar industries can be resolved by teaching key leaders soft skills. Issues of frustration that we continually hear stem from communication errors, not know how to own-up or apologize, fear of looking ignorant or fear of losing one's job, and feeling overwhelmed by so many issues. 

These stresses, left unchecked, lead to unengaged workers, which leads to unsafe practices or worse: suicidal tendencies.  Mikel presents these real-life issues in a way that is extremely relatable. He cuts through the stigma of the title of 'mental health' that is often seen as weak, immature or unimportant. He charges us to take it serious and actively do something about it, by offering practical ways to lead that include caring on a higher level. Mikel does this well, because we are also blue-collar.

-What to do: the desire to win, even when you're losing, the power of listening, gathering talent, prioritizing problems, mindset shifts and problem solving.
